I am Leilani Nicole

My name is Leilani Nicole Wilson. I was born in Kailua, Hawaiʻi and was raised in Heʻeia, Hawaiʻi. I graduated from the University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa with a Bachelor of Science in Fashion Design and Merchandising and a Bachelor of Arts in Hawaiian Language. Ever since I was a little girl, I loved all things pretty. At age four, hula became my calling. Hula was my one way to feel beautiful. Every show and competition, there were teams of people to do my hair and makeup, make my costumes, and adorn me with leis. This, was my first glimpse of me wanting to start a career in fashion. I adored the attention and the glamour of dancing hula that is similar to fashion, and it wasn’t until later when the history and culture behind the dance was understood. The feeling that I get every time that costume goes on is unexplainable. Our hālau rarely uses an outfit twice, and we always want to look our best when we get out on the stage, just as men and women who walk down the red carpet. Today, I am a professional hula dancer, sharing my talent with tourist from around the world. I also am building my fashion career with the Swedish multinational clothing company Hennes & Mauritz, H&M.

My blog is an insight of my daily life and what inspires me. My background gives a little preview of my likes and passions.  I am your typical girl in my 20’s, post college grad, living the best years of my life. Everyday is a new adventure and my blog is where I can document all of the excitement living my dreams!  A few categories my post fall into would include #fashion #hula #adventuring #travel #food&drink #wedding #crafts&diy #beauty #events #eventdesign #photography #hiking #wanderlust #nightlife
